Overview

The concept of general psychology. The objectives of psychology and the variables that govern behavior, types of branches of psychology. The most important concepts and principles related to psychology. Research methods in general psychology, general psychological laws of human behavior. Schools of Psychology - Nervous System and Behavior. Higher mental processes, learning, the concept of stimulus and response, the concept of intelligence, perception, sensation, remembering, forgetting, and thinking. Motivation: Defining motivation and the different classifications of motives that can be limited to biological and physiological motives, employing psychological knowledge and educational concepts to serve the educational process.

Intended learning outcomes

1. The student should be aware of the concept, importance and objectives of general psychology

2. To discuss the most important general psychological laws of human behaviour and the branches of general psychology.

3. The student should discuss the most important methods of research in general psychology.

4. The student should clarify the type of the relationship between the nervous system and behavior.

5. To clarify what is meant by the concept of remembrance and the factors which affect it.

6. The student should mention the concept of higher mental processes.

7. To compare between the importance and the objectives of the general psychology.

8. The student should analyze the psychological basics of human behaviour.

9. The student analyses the steps of the case study curriculum in general psychology.

10. The student should deduce the steps of the longitudinal curriculum in psychology.

11. The student should deduce the factors which influence the memory and the remembrance.

12. The student should distinguish between the concept of higher mental processes and intelligence by making a comparison between them.

13. The student should explain the importance of the general psychology to his/her teacher using the data show.

14. To design a visual presentation showing the braches of general psychology and the relationship with these branches.

15. The student should design a research plan in which he/she mentions the steps of the case study curriculum.

16. The student should design a research plan and mention the factors which affect memory and thinking.

17. The student should analyze through a visual presentation the relationship of the senses to a perception in human beings.

18. To distinguish between different types of primary and secondary motivations.

19. To be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally.

20. The student should be able to work in teams.
